Please understand that "player safety" was first and foremost in the decision to move to "240" bats.
USSSA was the pioneer in bat technology for slowpitch softball and contributes a lot of resources to ensuring there is a balance between performance and safety in equipment.
BAT TESTING
MENS OPEN
All teams in the men’s open division need to be at the park. 30 minutes before Pool game time to have bats tested.
MENS D
Teams with a 5 PM start in bracket play must have their bats tested by 4:30
Teams with a 6:10 PM in bracket play start must have their bats tested by 5:30
Bat testing will be done tbehind Field 5

MENS OPEN HR Rule / Courtesy Runner
Mens Open 8 HR's additional Home Runes are OUTS only Mens Open Courtesy Runner Rule will be the national rule (below) with the exception that there will be a mandatory runner for the Pitcher.National Rule Sec. 13. COURTESY RUNNERS: One courtesy runner per inning (one time) may be used.
The courtesy runner can be any player in the lineup on the roster. Once the courtesy runner
occupies the base, the selected courtesy runner may not be exchanged for any other desired
courtesy runner. If the courtesy runner is still on base at the time her/her turn at bat comes
up, that spot in the batting order will be an out.
EFFECT Sec. 13. If a second courtesy runner of the inning, or one not from the roster,
enters the game, and the defensive team completes a proper appeal before the next pitch,
illegal pitcher action, intent
